Smitty’s Oyster House Introduces Weekend Brunch

Pardon the pun, but this is no yolk! In an exciting twist, Smitty’s Oyster House on Main Street is cracking open a brand-new weekend brunch menu. Well, sorta brand new.

The brunchly fun started way back at the end of March, but took us until this past weekend to check out this beloved Mount Pleasant hotspot.

Life get’s busy sometimes, don’t judge. Sheesh.

Head Chef Alan Older, the culinary maestro behind the menu, has whisked together a slew of creatively delicious dishes that will be served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. From a trio of egg benedict variations (smoked salmon, crab, and classic) to the show-stopping Chef AO’s shrimp & lobster roll served with house-made old bay-seasoned potato chips, this new brunch menu truly has something for everyone.

And what’s a brunch without some fun libations to wash it all down? GM and Bar Manager Nicky Annable will be shaking things up behind the bar with a selection of boozy brunch cocktails. Mimosas will come in a variety of flavors including orange, raspberry, and grapefruit, while the Smitty’s Caesars and Espresso Martinis add a delightful twist to classic brunch beverages.

Some highlights from the full Weekend Brunch menu include the OG Breakfast with applewood smoked bacon and heirloom tomatoes, the classic BLT with a grilled lemon aioli, and the crowd-pleasing Smitty’s Classic Benny. For those with a taste for seafood, the crab cake benny and the smoked salmon benny are sure to satisfy your cravings. We hit up the crab cake benny, lobster roll and a dozen oysters with several rounds of mimosas and a caesar.

In addition to the new brunch offering, Chef Older continues his popular Guest Chef Paella Series on Friday nights, featuring unique recipes developed in collaboration with some of Vancouver’s top culinary talent.
