British street artist makes another artistic statement with the opening of a hotel set next to the controversial Israel-Palestine border wall in the historic city of Bethlehem.

Not one to shy away from big statements, street artist Banksy just welcomed media to the “hotel with the worst view in the world.” The Walled Off Hotel offers views of the border wall that separates Israel from Palestine in the West Bank.

The opening date of the hotel is intentional. “It’s exactly one hundred years since Britain took control of Palestine and started re-arranging the furniture—with chaotic results,” Banksy said in a statement shared with the Telegraph. “I don’t know why but it felt like a good time to reflect on what happens when the United Kingdom makes a huge political decision without fully comprehending the consequences.”

Inside are nine rooms and one suite decorated, as might be expected, with Banksy’s signature murals and paintings — the kind that can be seen in street corners around the globe and that have fetched millions of dollars at auction. The Presidential Suite, with the aforementioned “worst view in the world,” overlooks the Israeli security wall.
