We stopped by Pony Hair Salon for step-by-step instructions to get summertime’s hot beachy hair style using Bumble and bumble’s Surf-inspired products.
Back in 2001, Bumble and bumble introduced the first-of-its-kind, often-imitated-but-never-replicated Surf Spray. The company’s updated products features an elusive combination of sea salt, minerals and marine extracts that replicates what every hair stylist on a beach photoshoot has known for years: that salt water (and a beachy breeze) is the secret for adding volume and that salty, sexy, sun-dried, wind-styled feel that seems such a shame to wash out.
Surf Spray was an instant hit with hair stylists and their clients alike. The cult of Surf continues with a couple of products from Bumble and bumble that help bring the buoyant body and seabreezy texture of the beach to your hair.
The girls at Pony Hair Salon show us how it’s done.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Prep is the ultimate pre-styler. The nutrient-rich detangler reveals texture, enhances the performance of styling products and refreshes already styled hair. It’s best for ultra-fine, limp hair. Use it when hair is damp to detangle and prepare hair for styling. Just spray liberally and evenly (it’s impossible to use too much) on damp hair and work through.
Surf Infusion is a tropical mix of coconut, mango seed, passion fruit and palm oils that condition and softens hair. Use it anytime you want to create soft, sea-tossed waves with sheen. To get the look just spray evenly on damp or dry hair, focusing on the mid-lengths to ends. Style and let air dry or diffuse for more volume. Pairs well with the original Surf Spray at the roots.
Don’t Blow It is a first-of-its kind creme to give you a beautiful air-dried look with a product-free feel. It features polymers and plant-based conditioners that enhance texture and body. The blend provides a lightweight, touchable finish, and the UVA and UVB filters protect against the damaging effects of the sun. Ideal for fine to medium hair, use it on days when you want to avoid heat styling.
