It’s been 15 years since Ludovic Navarre of St. Germain fame released a full-length album. For the follow up to 2000’s Tourist and 1995’s Boulevard, St. Germain fuses electric guitars, piano and sax with African musicians playing the balafon, the n’goni, and kora, all traditional Malian instruments, to deliver the first single, “Real Blues.”
Singer Lightnin’ Hopkins delivers bluesy vocals, and artist Gregos, known for his iconic smiling and frowning masks, created the artwork featured both on the single and the video. The album comes out October 9th via Warner Music. And St. Germain will tour across Europe throughout November and December.
