Enough already with the cynical articles and comments about Vancouver being the “un-fun city” or “boring.” As far as we are concerned, the finger pointing has three point right back attcha. Like anything in life, the more you put in the more you get out. And in this case if you read a little further, click a few links and part with a small sum of cash, you can bare witness to three humans performing in ways you might not have thought possible. The Fox Cabaret hosts Night Cap, a Tap Dance Concert featuring Joel Hanna, Danny Neilsen and Emmy Award-winner Jason Samuels Smith on Thursday, June 18th.
“We don’t want this to be just for dance or tap dance, jazz or big band swing people. We want this to be for everyone who loves good music, and who wants to see three of the most highly skilled dance artists in the world,” says Hanna, who is touted as one of the most exciting dancers to ever step on the world stage. And that’s just one third of the talent.
Put it this way, when these guys backed by Jaclyn Guillou and the 8-piece Last Call Band hit the stage, you’ll be wondering why you ever said such repugnant comments about our lovely (and interesting) city. Imagine big band, jazz, soul and Latin style music coupled with three world class dancers.
See you at the show.
