The Vancouver International Auto Show rolls into the Vancouver Convention Centre
The sun is out, spring is in the air, collect the family and head down to the Vancouver Convention Centre to ooh and ahh over automobiles that will make you reconsider your career path. To be fair, there are vehicles well within what is considered affordable.
Ford, VW and Kia take aim at the budget conscious while McLaren, Porsche and Ferrari offer vehicles that would make Tesla’s founder, Elon Musk, fiscally frightened. For environmentally minded folks, this year offers more exhibits with electric and hybrid vehicles. Check out the 2016 Canadian Green Car of the Year finalists: Chevy Volt, Honda Civic Sedan and the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. Even Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche’s mind blowing 918 are hybrids.
Offering the event at the Convention Centre vs BC place has its perks too. There are better views, outdoor displays and it is easy to get a stamp, eat lunch at a waterfront restaurant and stroll back in at leisure. It is also great to see some local exhibits, the BCIT racing department builds funny little dune-buggy/race cars and competes against other universities for engineering supremacy. Help them out with a donation as you stroll past the super cars. Get info on hours and admission tickets here.
