Until August 6th, 45 bars and restaurants across Vancouver will shake up an array of signature cocktails in celebration of the inaugural Pride Crawl Fundraiser in support of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation.
In the lead up to Vancouver’s annual Pride Parade on August 6, bars and restaurants across the city are shaking up an array of signature cocktails in celebration of the inaugural Pride Crawl Fundraiser and we’ve got two great prize packs to giveaway to kick-start the love.
Prize Pack #1: Dinner for two at ARC at the Fairmont Waterfront with Pride Crawl cocktails
Prize Pack #2: Pride Crawl for Two! Have your own mini pride crawl in support of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation with gift-card’s for Pride Crawl cocktails at Campagnolo, Bauhaus and The Portside Pub (entry details below).
Now that we’ve shaken, stirred your attention, keep in mind each cocktail will generate much-needed funds to support compassionate HIV care at the Dr. Peter Centre, where the majority of clients self-identify as LGBTQ2+.
Win or lose here are some cocktails that we’re especially excited to try before they disappear.
ARC at the Fairmont Waterfront (900 Canada Pl)
Waterfront Clover Club Martini
ARC Bartender, Robert Khazarmi makes a playful version of the classic Clover Club cocktail with local ingredients from their rooftop garden. This drink is perfectly mixed with in-house pear and thyme infused gin, honey, lemon juice, egg whites, and muddled raspberries.
The Portside Pub (7 Alexander Street)
The Peachy Sailor
Conor Leduc stays in line with The Portside Pub’s seaside theme with this Sailor Jerry based drink. The bold Caribbean rum is expertly mixed with lemon juice, rosemary honey syrup, peach puree, grapefruit and rosemary to create a refreshing cocktail.
Bauhaus (1 W Cordova St)
Keely Buckley’s cocktail is a take on a classic margarita with a tasty, and colourful twist! This drink uses a refreshing combination of melon drop tea, cucumber juice and mezcal – a definite must-try!
Also on our must-try list:
Tacofino (Gastown, Hastings, Yaletown locations). “Violet Chachki” named after the drag queen, best known for winning the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. It’s a vodka based drink with St. Germaine and Creme de Violette.
Campagnolo (1020 Main St) “Swizzle Bear” with Gin, Campari, Strega Liquore, Lemon, Simple Syrup, Barspoon Cynar, Crushed Ice (by hand!), and Lemon Wheel.
Mission Kits (2042 W 4th Ave) The extremely creative “Any Colour You Like” with Spruce Tip Inflused Sid’s Vodka, Haskap Berry Syrup, Lillet Blanc Apertivo, Citrus blend and a rainbow fluid gel garnish (Hibiscus, Fir/Nettle/Meadowgrass, Butterfly Pea, Saffron/Olive Oil) and Butterfly pea dynamic colour changing gelee.
The Cascade Room (2616 Main St) Bartender, Justin Taylor’s “Purple Rain” with Longtable Gin, Okanagan spirits Haskap liqueur, Orgeat Syrup, Passion Fruit Puree, lime juice, egg whites, and Gunpowder bitters mist.
