Do you enjoying eating? Like to drink? Maybe pick up a few cooking tips from a pro? If you answered yes to even one of those questions, EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival is the place to be April 26 to May 3. Events, workshops, and meals throughout the city will feature some of Vancouver’s (and the country’s) iconic culinary masters.
The eight-day festival includes events in five categories — Dinner Series, Hands-on Workshops, Hospitality Symposium, Pastry Tasting and Panel Discussion, and Canadian Flavours Gala — at venues around the city. The last three days go down at BC Place where attendees get the chance to meet celebrity chefs and restaurateurs, chat with vintners and craft brewers over a drink, and taste culinary treats provided by hundreds of restaurants, artisans and exhibitors.
This year, EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival also offers a number of cool new features, and the return of old favourites:

EAT! VIP Experiences: A handful of participants have the chance to interact with celebrity chefs Susur Lee, Mark McEwan and Anna Olson.

Speed Rack: Top female bartenders handpicked by award-winning bartenders Lauren Mote and Dani Tatarin, along with Speed Rack’s Ivy Mix and Lynnette Marrero compete in support Canadian Breast Cancer Society (BC/Yukon Region).

Talk & Taste Stage: top chefs and culinary experts (Angus An, Ned Bell, Trevor Bird, Andrea Carlson, Jonathan Chovancek, Ryan O’Flynn, Lucais Syme, Joël Watanabe, Chris Whittaker and Wesley Young) host demonstrations and tastings.

Celebrity Chef Throwdown: Two-time Celebrity Chef Throwdown winner and Vancouver luminary Rob Feenie joins Carolyn Ali (Georgia Straight), Erin Ireland (It’s To Die For) and Sophie Lui (Global TV) on the judging panel as Beaucoup Bakery owner Jackie Kai Ellis, Food Network notable Anna Olson and Café Medina executive chef Jonathan Chovancek face off in a fun, fast-paced culinary fight to the finish line

Celebrity Chef Stage: Pick up some cooking tips and participate in interactive cooking demonstrations from celebrated chefs including Rob Feenie, Anna Olson, Mark McEwan, Susur Lee, Ned Bell, Vikram Vij and Michael P. Clive, as well as a Dr. Greg Chan of SuperChefs Cookery for Kids.
